Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Please take a moment to watch this one-minute video in celebration of UN Day:
On 24 October, we celebrate United Nations Day, marking the entry into force of the UN Charter in 1945.This year, as we commemorate 80 years of the United Nations, we honor the collective hope and determination that built this Organization. Across our missions and offices, your dedication brings the Charter to life, protecting lives, advancing human rights, and responding to global crises.
We also pay tribute to our fallen and injured colleagues, and to the families who continue to support our service. Even as the UN faces financial constraints and a world in turmoil, marked by conflict, inequality, and climate change, it remains humanity’s greatest platform for dialogue, cooperation, and peace.
The United Nations embodies our shared belief that peace, development, and human rights are not privileges but universal values. As we look ahead, let us renew our commitment to integrity, professionalism, and solidarity. In these challenging times, it is our unity and unwavering sense of purpose that keep the spirit of the United Nations alive.
Thank you for your selfless service, and for your belief in the timeless mission of the United Nations.
Wishing you all a Happy United Nations Day.
Best regards,
Milan Victor Dawoh
President-United Nations Field Staff Union (UNFSU)
